Robert van Amerongen

Chief Executive Officer / Chief Medical Officer / Medical Director

Dr. van Amerongen, founder of Urgent-MD, is Board-Certified in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. A graduate of Albert Einstein College of Medicine, he completed his Residency in Pediatrics at North Shore University Hospital / Weill Cornell Medical College, and his Fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Bellevue Hospital Center / NYU School of Medicine. He subsequently launched the first Pediatric Emergency Department at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.

Dr. van Amerongen was founder and Director of the Pediatric Emergency Service, Department of Emergency Medicine, at New York Methodist Hospital, and was Director of its Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship. He is also Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. "Dr. Van" was a long-time volunteer EMS physician for Chevra Hatzalah ambulance corps, and is Medical Director of Chai Lifeline / Camp Simcha Special, for children with life-threatening illnesses.

Steve Savitsky is founder and President of ATC (Around the Clock) Healthcare Services, a nationwide provider of medical staffing. He also founded and served as CEO and Chairman of the Board of Tender Loving Care - Staff Builders, a nationwide provider of home health care, where he managed a network of over 200 franchisees.

Shabsi Schreier is Executive Director of the Manhattan Division of Caring Professionals, Inc., one of the largest licensed home care agencies in the New York Metropolitan Area. He was also Owner and Executive Director of the Long Island Division of Tender Loving Care/Amedisys, the largest national certified home care agency in the country. Prior to focusing on home care, Mr. Schreier built multiple Physician Faculty Practice plans, and served as a Hospital Administrator at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Shelly Hoffman is President of Sibling Management, Inc. - a real-estate management firm in operation for over two decades - and is a Licensed Real Estate Broker. Prior to this, he was a long-time independent contractor in the Information Technology field, with expertise in programming, analysis, design, consulting, and sales.
